Abstract

Hearing aid amplification alone may not always be sufficient as a sound therapy. The use of therapeutic sounds in combination with hearing aids increases their versatility as devices for tinnitus management. The heterogeneity in tinnitus and individual preferences for different sounds are challenges for clinicians, but they can be overcome by careful consideration of client goals. This chapter describes a clinical protocol for incorporating sound therapy with amplification.
