Zusammenfassung

Von 1976 - 1981 wurden 558 Wagner-Cup-Endoprothesen implantiert. Es wird über 7-Jahres-Ergebnisse mit einer Versagensquote von 12,4% berichtet. Die Ursachen der Versagensfälle liegen in überzogenen Indikationen und im Design der Endoprothese begründet. Das Originalmodell der Cup-Endoprothese von Wagner sollte u. E. keine Verwendung mehr finden.

Abstract

Between 1976 and 1981 a total of 558 Wagner Cup prostheses were implanted. This paper reports on 7 years of experience with this prosthesis, with a failure rate of 12.4%. The causes of failure are attributable to exaggerated indication and the design of the prosthesis. In the authors' opinion, the original-model Wagner cup prosthesis should no longer be used.
