Significance

The Davies group describes the highly chemoselective cyclopropanation of mono- and disubstituted alkenes with aryldiazoacetates catalyzed by AgSbF6. This system offers distinct advantages over the commonly employed dirhodium systems typically used. Chemoselectivity for cyclopropanation over C-H insertion is greatly favored with silver while rhodium is highly chemoselective for the latter.
