Abstract

Four new nortriterpenoid saponins, named yemuoside YM7 (1), YM11 (2), YM13 (3), and YM14 (4), were isolated from Stauntonia chinensis Decne. A new prosaponin, named yemuoside YM16 (5), was isolated from the cleavage of the ester-glycoside linkage of 1. On the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence, their structures were elucidated.
