Der Ausbruch hat gezeigt, dass sowohl technische Maßnahmen als auch sogenannte weiche/soziale Maßnahmen notwendig sind, um Infektionskrankheiten sinnvoll entgegenzuwirken. Eine Evaluation der Maßnahmen während dieses Ausbruchs muss durchgeführt werden, um bei einem neuen Ausbruch schneller richtig handeln zu können.
