Significance
Lemonomycin was isolated from the fermentation broth of Streptomyces candidas and has strong activity against several bacterial strains including MRSA. Noteworthy is the phase-transfer-catalyzed enantioselective alkylation of B and the intramolecular Mannich reaction to give J.
