Abstract

Two spectrophotometric methods were described to illustrate the utility of charge transfer complexation for the assay of emetine and lobeline. Emetine was determined in ampoules, liquid extract and powdered Ipecacuanha root. Lobeline was assayed in ampoules, lobelia tincture ethereal and powdered Lobelia herb. The results of both methods are statistically comparable.
